A Dreamer’s Journey

“We are living in a time when so many people are feeling marginalized because of their legal status in the United States. It is important to not lose connection with our humanity and see our neighbors, friends, fellow parishioners, coworkers as human beings, not as aliens.”
– Rosa Luz Catterall
Join us at William C. Goodridge Freedom Center and Underground Railroad Museum for Artist Rosa Luz’s motivational message on today’s immigration concerns, as well as her personal journey as she traveled from Peru to New York, New York to York, Pennsylvania. “My desire in sharing my journey as an immigrant is to engage the community on a human level and not forget that what is at stake, is our ability to have compassion and remind everyone of our roots as immigrants…”, she explains.

Rosa Luz is an accomplished, self-taught artist who moved to the United States at the early age of nine to pursue her dream of a successful future. She presently has an art studio at MarketView Arts in downtown York.
