Immigration: Fleeing Persecution

A timely discussion hosted by Mary Studzinski, Executive Director for the Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center (PIRC). Her talk will explore fleeing from persecution and the men, women, and children who seek the freedom and safety of asylum in the United States.

Topics will include PIRC’s founding, the asylum-seekers of the Golden Venture held in detention in York more than 20 years ago, the legal advocacy of PIRC that continues today, and the historical arc of access to freedom and justice.

This event is FREE and family friendly. Also, enjoy a tour of the Goodridge Freedom Center and Underground Railroad Museum before and after the presentation.
