Community Connections Job Club Partner

30 April 2015

Our technique has helped many displaced workers, but there are still some workers that require extra assistance. In order to meet each individual right where they are, we have partnered with outside organizations to help bridge the gap in our service competencies and allow for our participants to have a full portfolio of opportunities at their disposal.

The following is a brief description of some of our partners and the services that they offer.

Susquehanna SCORE: The Susquehanna Chapter of SCORE is part of a national nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of the nation’s small businesses.  SCORE volunteers share their expertise and serve as sounding boards “For the life of your business.” SCORE is now offering Entrepreneurial & business plan writing workshops at Crispus Attucks

The South Central PA Sickle Cell Council (SCPASCC): is a nonprofit organization that provides education and health services to persons with Sickle Cell Disease and their families in today’s global environment. SCPASCC and Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center partner to deliver comprehensive medical and psychosocial services.

OVR: The Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, or OVR, provides vocational rehabilitation services to help people with disabilities prepare for, obtain, or maintain employment. OVR provides services to eligible individuals with disabilities, both directly and through a network of approved vendors. OVR is now keeping regular office hours at our JOB Club location at 620 S. George St. York PA

York County School of Technology GED program: We have also partnered with York County School of Technology to offer General Education Development (GED) examination, in order to assist participant who are seeking to earn their High School equivalency. Classes are taught daily at our Job Club Location at 620 s George Street.

We are always looking for partners who will help our participants get the help and services they so desperately need. It is our hope that these partnerships will allow us to bridge the employment gap in our community. At CACET we will never offer a handout, only a hand up.

If you would like more information about the program, or if you would like to get involved please contact us at CACET@crispusattucks.org.
