Founded in 1931, Crispus Attucks York has grown from a small community center into a dynamic organization serving thousands of individuals annually through programs such as:

EARLY LEARNING
CENTER

Nationally accredited childcare for children ages 3 months to 12 years with a strong emphasis on school-readiness preparation

RISING STARS

After-school and summer enrichment program focused on education, recreation and social responsibility for youth ages 5 to 18

CHARTER SCHOOL

YouthBuild-affiliated high school diploma program incorporating hands-on job training for youth ages 17 to 21

EMPLOYMENT &
TRAINING

Training, education, counseling and job placement services for youth and adults

ACTIVE LIVING
CENTER

Educational, nutritional, social, and recreational activities for older adults ages 60 and above

HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Provides safe, quality housing for low income York residents. Brings new possibilities to the community by renovating buildings for use by local businesses

Authenticated Underground Railroad site and museum sharing the unique life of local hero William C. Goodridge

For nearly 50years, Mr. Simpson has led Crispus Attucks York with vision, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to community empowerment. Under his leadership, CAY has grown from a modest community center into a transformative four-block campus serving families through education, workforce development, housing, and cultural programming.

This recognition is more than an award — it is a celebration of a legacy that continues to move our community forward.
