Celebrating Mrs. Dorthy Carter: A Volunteer Superstar at CAY Active Living Center

At the CAY Active Living Center, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Dorthy Carter, affectionately known as “Mrs. Dot,” for her unwavering dedication as a volunteer in our meals-to-go preparation.

Mrs. Dot has truly embraced technology, utilizing the newly acquired Oliver Speed Seal—purchased through the PA State Aging Grant—to enhance our food prep process. This innovative tool allows her to efficiently and safely package an impressive 65 meals in just one hour!

We are incredibly thankful for dedicated volunteers like Mrs. Dot, who show up every day to make a difference in our community. Thank you, Mrs. Dot, for all that you do!

The Active Living Center provides meal assistance to 100% of their participants. The center not only offers daily, well-balanced lunches but acts as a central hub for older adults to connect with peers, resources, and opportunities.
