CA ETC Career Focus Institute Architecture, Planning & Design Program Huge Success

Exciting news aspiring architects on the horizon! The CAY Employment and Training Career, Focus Institute Planning & Design Program (PDP) launched, coinciding with the construction of the CAY History and Cultural Center. This innovative program offered 10 York County high school students grades 9 through 12 a unique opportunity to explore a career pathway in architecture.

Crispus Attucks York Career Focus Institute Management and Leadership

Through a partnership with the esteemed architectural firm Murphy & Dittenhafer and the construction firm Stewart and Tate, students gained hands-on experience by shadowing professionals who designed and built the Crispus Attucks History & Culture Center. This immersive experience gave students invaluable insights into architectural design and construction management principles.

Classes took place at the award-winning Murphy & Dittenhafer office located at 226 W. Market Street, offered students a vibrant learning environment. Over the course of 32 hours, students learned essential skills and had access to supportive services, including industry-standard software like AutoCAD, report covers, binding materials, and audio-visual aids.

This program was more than just a stepping stone; it was a pathway to a bright future in architecture. For those high school students, it was an incredible opportunity to build their skills and careers!
