Celebrating a New Generation of Talent: CAY’s First 20 Manufacturing Training Graduates Step Into Their Future
On Friday, May 23, 2025, the Crispus Attucks York gymnasium was filled with pride, applause, and hope as we celebrated the graduation of 20 young adults who successfully completed our first-ever Manufacturing Training cohort through the Center for Employment and Training.
This event marked more than just the end of a training program—it represented a new beginning for each graduate, who is now equipped with in-demand skills and job opportunities in York’s growing manufacturing sector. Thanks to the $200,000 Manufacturing Training to Career Grant from the PA Department of Community and Economic Development, this innovative 2-year initiative is creating real change and career pathways for our community’s youth.
The program, developed in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Association and over ten local manufacturing employers, combines hands-on training with guaranteed job placement. Our graduates are now stepping into the workforce with confidence and purpose, ready to make their mark.
The graduation celebration included heartfelt remarks, success stories from our participants, and a delicious catered lunch shared among family, friends, mentors, and employer partners. The atmosphere was electric and filled with gratitude for all who made this opportunity possible.
We extend our deepest thanks to our training partners, employer sponsors, and community leaders for investing in the future of York’s workforce. To the graduates: your journey is just beginning, and we couldn’t be more proud of the path you’re on. Keep rising, you are the future of manufacturing.
