This incredible summer was made possible thanks to the generosity of our 2025 Give Local York supporters. Your donations directly funded scholarships that gave every child the opportunity to attend camp, grow academically, socially, and emotionally, and most importantly—feel seen, valued, and empowered.

Your support has made these experiences possible, and for that, we are truly grateful. Together, we are helping young people build confidence, form friendships, and develop skills to plan their own path toward success.

At Crispus Attucks York, summer is a season of possibility. This year, our 2025 Rising STARS Summer STEAM Activity Camp welcomed bright young minds into a world of hands-on learning, joyful exploration, and unforgettable experiences that combined Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math with purpose, positivity, and pride. 

🌞 Starting Each Day with Purpose

Each morning, our campers began their day by reciting the Crispus Attucks Rising STARS Camp Creed:

“I am a positive individual, prepared to navigate my life through positive channels. The world owes me nothing. It is up to me to achieve, to live my life, and to shape my own destiny. My plan is to succeed.”

These powerful words set the tone for a summer filled with growth, learning, and memorable moments. On behalf of the Crispus Attucks Rising STARS Program, our campers and staff extend sincere gratitude for making these opportunities possible.

✨ A Summer of Enrichment and Exploration

This summer, our campers participated in a wide range of activities designed to inspire curiosity, build confidence, and foster leadership. Program highlights included:

• 🎨 Creative arts projects and hands-on learning

• 🧪 Presentations on nutrition, science, and technology

• 🏀 Sports, fitness, and teamwork activities

• 🌱 Programs that encourage creativity, leadership, and personal growth

Campers also enjoyed weekly swimming every Thursday and visited the York Country Club three times to play pickleball, swim, and share lunch—promoting physical wellness, social connection, and fun!

🚌 STEAM Adventures & Field Trips

Our scholars expanded their horizons through exciting educational trips, including:

• The Lancaster Science Factory – where campers built circuits, coded robots, and explored interactive exhibits.

• Golden Corral – a fun and social lunch outing after a full day of learning.

• Fun City and Bowling – combining play with STEAM-based motion and strategy.

• Port Discovery Children’s Museum – a camper favorite that sparked creativity and imagination.

• Knoebels Amusement Park – the perfect summer send-off filled with laughter and thrills.

🍽️ A Heartfelt Family Celebration

On July 25, 2025, we hosted a special Family Luncheon to celebrate the achievements of our campers. Families gathered to enjoy a meal together, view art displays, and cheer on the incredible growth they witnessed over the summer. Students proudly presented their arts and crafts projects and offered flowers to loved ones as a token of appreciation and gratitude.

When asked about their favorite parts of camp, many campers shared how much they loved meeting new people, participating in art and teamwork activities, and especially the trip to Port Discovery.
