Goodridge Freedom Center
The William C. Goodridge Freedom Center and Underground Railroad Museum continues the story of Crispus Attucks through the life achievements of William C. Goodridge, an African American who rose from slavery to business prominence in York, PA, and later risked everything to help freedom seekers escape from slavery in the mid-1800s.
The museum is an authenticated site on the Underground Railroad, recognized as part of the National Park Service’s Network to Freedom. It is one of the few African American culture sites nationwide, and the only African American museum in York.
The Goodridge Freedom Center is temporarily closed to the public for scheduled maintenance and facility upkeep. Thank you for your understanding.
