Why Your Story Matters
Every person in York has a unique history to share, and together, these stories create a vibrant tapestry of our community’s past. Your experiences, memories, and artifacts are invaluable pieces of this puzzle. What We’re Looking For
We are currently collecting stories and artifacts for our new CAY HCC exhibits. Here are some of the themes we are particularly interested in:
– York Heritage Stories: Share personal or family stories that highlight life in York.
– Family Migration to York: Tell us about your family’s journey to York, the challenges they faced, and the triumphs they achieved.
– Segregation in York: Provide first-hand accounts or reflections on the era of segregation in York, and the resilience of the community during these times.
– York Race Riots: Document your experiences or knowledge of the race riots in York, shedding light on this pivotal moment in our local history.
– Historical York Artifacts: Contribute photographs, documents, or other artifacts that connect us to York’s past.
