Crispus Attucks York History and Culture Center Groundbreaking Ceremony

The Center will explore, document, and showcase the African American story and impact on York City as well as African Americans’ important place in and contributions to our country’s history. Through the vision, voice, creativity and perspective of African Americans in York County, we will educate the public on York’s history of slavery, segregation, civil unrest, social injustice, and activism in order to aim toward change and cultivate a better future. It will also be used as a meeting space for the community to gather, build relationships, strengthen bonds, and learn about themselves and each other. Additionally, the center will depict the rich and varied cultural experiences of other residents of York County, such as the Latino population, and their contributions to the York community.

Crispus Attucks York is a United Way of York County Community Partner.
