CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director, Early Learning Center
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Clean and maintain kitchen including all storage areas to exceed Bureau of Health Standards
– Maintain safe preparation and safe storage of all food service supplies
– Prepare meals based upon daily attendance and prepare classroom-serving carts
– Meals include breakfast, lunch and supplement snack for Child Care and Charter School
– Meals must meet guidelines as established by PDE – Child Adult Care Food Program
– Maintain health and safety regulations for upkeep of oven, refrigerators and freezers
– Maintain kitchen, food and food storage areas in clean and orderly manner
– Must do all required and requested paperwork
– Do all ordering of food and food supplies if needed
– May have to make trips to purchase food needed for the day/week
– Prepare snacks for meetings as requested
– Incorporate classroom nutritional curriculum as requested by Director
– Attend kitchen staff meetings
– Perform other duties as assigned
– Will include working with other affiliate groups using kitchen for special events
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
– High School Diploma / GED
– ServSafe Certification (Required)
– Experience with food preparation for quantity cooking
– Knowledge of nutritional needs of children ages 3 month – 12 years
– Knowledge of nutritional needs of young adults ages 17 – 22 years
– Dependability
– Current Health physical, PPD (TB), Drug screen
– Clearances are required for Criminal, Child Abuse, FBI and NSOR
– Two written references are required before start date
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Frequent walking and standing
Occasional bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and grasping
Lifting up to 10-15 pounds
SALARY RANGE:
Based on budget for the school year.
