Group Leader Crispus Attucks York Early Learning Center
SUMMARY
The Group Leader/Lead Teacher is responsible for the following minimum duties
- Planning and implementing daily program activities
- Coordinating activities of assistant teachers and aides
- Assisting the Director with designated duties
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Using input from co-teachers, write lesson plans
- Plan activities for group and individual times
- Maintain portfolio for each student
- Develop IEP as needed
- Complete observation forms on each child (within 30 days for new enrollee)
- Attend parent/teacher conferences
- Maintain positive communication with parents
- Attend training/own choice as well as designated (minimum of 24 hours) of training
- annually/excluding first aide, fire and water safety)
- Attend monthly staff meetings
- Rotate toys, books, supplies, etc. on a regular basis
- Go swimming as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Group Leader/Lead Teacher shall have attained the following qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child
- Development. Special Education, Elementary Education or the
- Human Services field;
- Associate’s Degree with 30 credit hours in Early Childhood
- Education and 2 years’ experience
- Annual Physical
- TB Testing
- Drug Testing
Crispus Attucks Early Learning Center York, PA adheres to NAEYC and
Pennsylvania state standards of teacher excellence; and, therefore requires and
supports teachers in being life-long learners. These standards require all teachers to
have specialized college- level coursework in best practices. Teachers will be
expected to further their own education to become highly qualified.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 25-50 pounds
- Frequent sitting, standing and walking
- Walk on field trips
- Cleaning duties
