Founded in 1931, the Crispus Attucks Association takes its name from the great African-American, Crispus Attucks, the first person to die in the Revolutionary War. Today, CA is a multipurpose center and fulfills the following mission statement by offering a full range of services to people from all walks of life: The Crispus Attucks Association of York, Pennsylvania is a comprehensive, non-profit entity dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for a diverse population. We educate, train, and provide personal, social, and economic opportunities while providing affordable housing, revitalizing and developing the community. We respect and value differences and strive to change disharmony into harmony, obstacles into opportunities, disadvantages into possibilities, and challenges into solutions. We develop leaders for tomorrow from the children, youth, families, and adults we serve today.
